Ron Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund

Ron Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund

Squamish Community Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of the Ron Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund established by Squamish Terminals.  Ron, former President & CEO of Squamish Terminals, was a dedicated volunteer who served many years with the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, the Corridor's Mayors Committee, West Coast Heritage Railway Association and many other worthy causes. In 2015 he was awarded Citizen of the Year for his many contributions to the community. Ron passed away from Cancer in August 2016

This fund will support an annual scholarship of $1000 to a grade twelve student, living in the Squamish region, who is registered to attend a post-secondary institution in either a transportation, political science or business field of study and has demonstrated service to the community. Additional funding for this Endowment was generously contributed by Neptune Terminals, British Columbia Maritime Employers Association, Envirochem Services Inc, and individual donors.

New Board Ready

New Board Ready

There have been some new directors to join the Squamish Community Foundations board in October and we thank our retiring directors, Kevin Haberl, Ken Perry and Carl Ingraham.  A strategic planning session was held in November where old and new board members spent the day planning and discussing where the foundation should be headed and how to get there.  New board president, Doug Hackett is providing strong leadership and the board is engaged to work hard to make sure your foundation grows to benefit the community of Squamish.
